Miroslav Reljic was born in Croatia (former Yugoslavia) in a school teacher’s family that believed in empowering people. As a Serbian teenager, Miroslav had to flee Croatia in the summer of 1995 due to civil war. In 1999, he came to Canada as a refugee. Although he didn't speak English, he had a goal of succeeding in Canada.
Since then, he received a B.A. in Economics from the University of Calgary and a Diploma in Coaching from the University of Cambridge. For 12 years, Miroslav has worked and consulted for the top five Canadian energy companies. Today, he runs a successful life & career coaching company. In his free time, Miroslav volunteers with newcomers and refugees.

#ICameAsARefugee is a campaign that sheds some positive light on refugees and celebrates their contribution to our society. It is a response to anti-refugee feelings. This campaign highlights six different refugees that came to Canada, and tells their stories through their own words.
